I had the problems. I even had the tools. What I didn't have was anyone to talk to when I got stuck. I had no one to ask "has anyone built this before?" No one to sanity-check my workflows or bounce ideas off. I wanted a space to geek out over the legal context and the technical possibility. The communities I did join were amazing, for job hunting, networking and sharing articles. But the moment I wanted to actually build and learn something, to troubleshoot, experiment, and figure out what was even possible, I was on my own. So I built the room I wish I'd had. In-house only, no vendors, no pitching, just the people doing the work, figuring it out out loud, together. Yes. We read every application and keep the room in-house and curated. It's the only way to keep conversations candid and free of anyone there to pitch. Where does it happen? Online-first, so it works wherever you are, with occasional (optional) in-person gatherings. Do I have to be a Wordsmith customer? No. Membership has nothing to do with being a customer, and you'll never be sold to inside the community. Wordsmith hosts the room; the room belongs to its members. How much time does it take? As much or as little as you want. Sessions are optional, the community is always on, and you can dip in for the bits relevant to what you're building right now. Do I need to use Slack? This is the Slack-based home for the new generation of in-house builders. The community runs day-to-day in Slack. Not a Slack user?
